Analyze your life

Social Media Analytics is a complicated and broad concept to grasp. Social Media Analytics is the study of reach and audience connection in social media platforms. Social Media Monitoring is the analyzing and understanding of social media, as well as responding to conversations virtually. This includes, but is not limited to: discovering conversations in real time, analyzing and measuring trends, pinpointing geolocation trends, and identifying key influence’s. It is this last point I want to focus on: key influences.

There are in fact numerous sites specifically made for the purpose of figuring out what influence you are having on a topic or situation based off of your social media presence. Such as Bottlenose, a social intelligence engine that shows you a live streaming view of what people are discussing, and which people are influencing the discussion. Or Topsy, a social media analytics site that lets you discover the most influential users on Twitter for any and all topics.

What’s the purpose of all of this? Social media consumers.

All of this work is put in to social media analytics to better understand social media consumers. If you know what people are talking about, sharing, asking for… then you can deliver what they want. If you can deliver what a mass audience wants, you can become a key influence in a topic of conversation.
